Mexikosher Brings Multicultural Flavor To NYC's Fast Food Scene
In the busy streets of NYC’s Upper West side, surprises are ever-present, and the idea of experiencing something truly unique is our biggest obsession. This past week, our eager taste buds managed to find that experience – or shall we say, taste it.
Mexikosher, the one and only Kosher-Mexican hot spot in the USA has come from the LA beaches to the NYC streets led by the talented hands of Chef Katsuji Tanabe. An unusual yet delicious eatery where fast food meets fine dining, this new restaurant has captured the attention of Manhattan’s hip young crowd with its singular approach to fast-casual dining.
The small yet modern space – which to be quite honest reminds us of a high-class Chipotle – follows the system of “build-your-own” platters and features a delicious array of typical Mexican dishes prepped in Chef Tanabe’s peculiar style. Offering mouthwatering specials like crispy chipotle-glazed chicken wings, barbacoa tacos and spicy beef burritos, this culturally-rich lunch spot is sure to be the next big thing in New York’s fast food scene.
Thanks to the artistic hands of Japanese-Mexican Chef Katsuji Tanabe (of Shilo’s and Top Chef), this top-notch eatery gives Kosher New Yorkers the opportunity to taste authentic Mexican cuisine for the very first time. And for us burrito fanatics who never thought of going Kosher… well, we now have a reason.
Crossing all cultural boundaries and creating exceptionally flavorful high quality dishes, Mexikosher is what this city’s progressive fast-paced community was waiting for.
