Small-Town Charm Meets NYC Elegance At Alice's Arbor
From Southern-style comfort food to diet-approved vegan treats, Alice's Arbor's got it all when it comes to brunching like a true New Yorker. Located in the heart of Brooklyn, this gem of an eatery has an ample menu of modern American dishes made with the freshest of locally grown ingredients and sprinkled with a touch of small-town flare. Complimented perfectly by the enchanting ambiance of the homey spot, the tasty menu provides just the right amount of elegance to an otherwise low-key neighborhood café.
If farm-to-table chic was not yet a concept, it is now.
When entering Alice’s Arbor on a rainy Sunday morning, an artfully prepped almond cappuccino brought us the first hint of warmth – as did the sweet mimosa that followed. As a fresh starter, we enjoyed a picturesque fruit parfait made with organic greek yoghurt, chunky granola and seasonal berries.
Next came the Crab Hash, a house special. This hearty dish was a delicious combination of a traditional NYC omelette blended together with a New Orleans crab cake and mixed with a side of buttery Alabama hash browns.
The Chef skillfully mixed the rich crab meat with the flavorful potato hash, making a sort of savory pancake to go as a base for the poached egg bathed in creamy Hollandaise. Salted mixed green decorated the platter, adding a hint of bitterness to the wholesome homemade entrée.
Thanks to the hotspot’s Boozy Brunch selection, the mimosas kept on coming (Bloody Marys are also a fiery option).
While our appetites betrayed us towards the end of the meal, we were eager to try Alice’s Arbor’s spicy chorizo omelette – a must-have on your next visit to the stylish restaurant.
When exploring the streets of Clinton Hill, be sure to stop by the corner of Classon and Fulton for a spiced avocado toast, soy iced latte or sourdough BLT. On a chilly November day, it does’t get much cozier than this.
