Savor The City's Juiciest Steak at Rocco Steakhouse

Forget having a “light dinner” this week and treat yourself to the juiciest stake in the city at Rocco Steakhouse

If your grandpa was like mine in that he smoked large cuban cigars, drank whiskey neat and ate steak like no other, this luxurious restaurant will take you back in time and give you chills of joy. Decorated in deep maroons, mahoganies and golds, the interiors of this Manhattan restaurant are vintage-classic. The ambiance is professional and lavishly sophisticated, while the crowd is for the most part successful businessmen and elegant women in pearls. 

As I entered the restaurant, the tuxedoed waiters lead me to an ample wooden table decorated with candles and a bottle of the finest Spanish wine – just in case. I was handed the dinner menu, in which I was excited to see a variety of mouth-watering steak, lamb, chicken and seafood. Sides came separately and included mashed potatoes, creamed spinach and lobster mac and cheese, among others. I decided to order a Ribeye steak and a side of creamed spinach. I also opted for a crab cake appetizer and let me tell you – by far the best one I have ever had, and I’ve had many. 

As the plates it arrived, I realized this meal could last me a week! I had never seen such large portions, especially in such a fine restaurant. I was amazed. Of course I immediately dug in and ate almost everything! No regrets. The creaminess of the spinach with the crispy tenderness of the steak was absolutely mesmerizing. I’m not usually a red meat person, but with food like Rocco’s, I could easily turn full-carnivore in no time. 

I finished my meal with a tall glass of Hahn Pinot from Cali – one of my mom’s favorites. It was truly an unforgettable night for my tastebuds, and for a date night or haute family meal, I cannot recommend it enough.
