Your Guide To A Low-Key 4th in NYC

Your Guide To A Low-Key 4th in NYC

Let's be real, we've all been partying since Friday, so it's no surprise that by the time the actual 4th (tomorrow) comes around, we may want to keep it low-key. Of course we're still expecting endless festive cocktails and booming fireworks over the Hudson, but we're going to try to keep it classy this year. Check out our plans for tomorrow and join us for a calming, boozy and perfect Monday.

Start the day with a fun bootcamp in Bryant Park

Start your day off with a good dose of NYC fitness. Recently – and thankfully for us – The Muse, Hotel Eventi and Ink48 have partnered with The Rise NYC, an organization that offers dynamic outdoor bootcamp classes. What better way to celebrate July 4th than with a series of high-intensity workouts and social runs along the most gorgeous parts of the city. Hotel Eventi provides a bag, towel, a water bottle and a healthy breakfast to-go pre-workout, to fill you with energy for your festive morning workout. If you wish, a Rise member can also personally meet you in the lobby for a warm-up run through the city and to the bootcamp location of that day. Stay active while exploring the wonderful city you live in and all its iconic glory.

Savor the perfect brunch at The Wayfarer

New Bottomless Brunch Alert! The Wayfarer – located on 101 West 57Th Street – is now offering a delicious and boozy “Bottomless Brunch” in its swank upstairs lounge for only $38 per person! We know you probably drank more than enough on your Friday-Sunday 4th celebrations, but the long weekend’s not over yet! Diners will feast on a special brunch entrée and 1 ½ hours of unlimited Mimosas and Bloody Marys. Must-try entrées from Executive Chef Chris Shea’s Bottomless Brunch menu include: Short Rib Hash and Poached Eggs, Baby Spinach Omelette with organic eggs and Huevos Rancheros with sunny side-up eggs among others.

As part of the unlimited cocktail offerings, diners can also enjoy The Wayfarer’s one-of-a-kind signature Bloody Mary Bar! Here you can customize your own Bloody Mary by adding a selection of classic (and unique) ingredients such as: spicy tomato, cold press green juice, poppy & sesame, Demerara Salt, Old Bay, truffled grilled cheese sandwich and candied bacon. Doesn’t get any better than that!

Midday Meditation at Kimpton NYC hotels

When you think 4th of July weekend, meditation may not be the first thing to cross your mind, but we think it may just be the best way to relax before (and after) the party! Don’t get us wrong, we’re all about the freedom fireworks and midnight martinis – but somewhere in between, we may need a little zen in our lives, and we suspect you will too. At the Kimpton Hotel’s various locations in the city, you can find the ultimate meditation haven and their award-winning Shinnyo Center for Meditation and Well-Being. You and your loved ones can enjoy a number of different meditations and services, including: Guided Meditation, Jazz Meditation, Health and Wellness Tips and Menu Counsel. Celebrate the 4th with an “OM” and start your week off right.

Watch the fireworks from Haven Rooftop

Located on the ninth floor, the rooftop at the Sanctuary Hotel in NYC’s Midtown is the ultimate summer hotspot and a perfect place to spend your 4th in. Providing an ideal escape from the city chaos yet featuring panoramic views of the gorgeous skyline and gleaming fireworks, this rooftop offers a seasonal happy hour you will not want to miss.

Executive Chef Madison Belem's summer menu offers a signature Crab & Avocado Palette, the popular Havenly Chicken, and Sesame Crusted Tuna; while a new cocktail menu by award-winning mixologist Isaac Grillo offers drinks such as the Summertime Ibiza Sangria and Safe Haven using the freshest seasonal ingredients. Check it out this Monday for a late night cocktail and a tasty selection of festive hors d’oeuvres!

Happy 4th from NYC!
