Honor The Movement "A Day Without A Woman" Inside The World Of Gertrude Stein
For the amazing boss ladies who have been following (if not, attending) the infamous Women's March, you may be aware of its newest sister: A Day Without A Woman. Taking place on March 8th – also known as International Women's Day – this second happening is all about recognizing the enormous value that women of all backgrounds add to America's (and the world) culture and growing economy. It is an event created with the mission of making us all realize that while we may continue receiving lower wages and experiencing greater inequalities, gender justice is on the rise and we will never give up.
That said, there's a million ways in which you can join the movement and spend this Wednesday, March 8th having the time of your life being the boss lady that you truly are.
First off, join us in taking the day off in order to raise awareness for those women who suffer from extreme working conditions and unpaid labor. Enjoy a day to yourself (or with a bunch of your craziest girlfriends) at The Renwick Hotel. Recently dubbed “New York’s most literary hotel”, this glamorously unique spot is offering an incredible package tied to its newly created Gertrude Stein Suite and aimed to support women in the arts!
Rumored to have spent time at the property (formerly The Bedford) with other greats like Steinbeck and Fitzgerald, Stein was a force and source of inspiration for female empowerment. The Renwick is proud to honor her legacy and help A Room of Her Own find the next great female writer.
Stay in for the day (no, no shopping allowed) and dress up in a queen-like red gown, to show your support for A Day Without A Woman. Work on your craft, pamper yourself with a hot bath or enjoy a good read from the ample selection of iconic novels stacked in your suite. This day is yours girl, so enjoy it.
